The Desert Classic Tour wrapped up their 2011 season with a $2500 added, three day Pool-stravaganza at Bullshooters in Phoenix on December 2nd - 4th.

The 2011 Arizona Seniors State 9-Ball Championship at Kitty’s on December 10th was a huge success. 20 players, all over 55, came to test their skills and knowledge in pursuit of over $900 in prize money and the prestigous title.

After a full day of great pool, fun, and renewing old rivalries, Ed Scott and Rocky Morris squared off for the hot seat. This highly contested match was finally won by Ed Scott.

If you are one of the many players who has found yourself frustrated by not having the jump shot in your arsenal of weapons, be prepared to finally have the opportunity to put an end to that particular frustration forever, because former world champion, Robin Dodson, has recently released a very affordable and highly enjoyable DVD that is appropriately titled: Mastering the Jump Shot.

Lately I have had a number of people approach me asking, “How can I get better?” My short answer usually is to practice but the real answer is you need to practice correctly and have a simple, consistent throw.

Tom Hicks and Rick Kerska wanted to give a spark to the Arizona Dart Scene and came up with a great concept to get things going.  Hosted on December 3rd by Big Daddy’s on Cave Creek Road, eight of Arizona’s best dart players went at it in a challenge to determine who would be the “best of the best”.  Eric Barron, Kix Alcala, Pete Linaris, Rick Schoen, Rick Kerska, David Fatum, Dave Wilderman, and Rick Breckinfelder were the chosen players for this event.  They would play a single elimination match with the race going to seven.
